Privacy Policy

Welcome to the Fun with Chinese 2 (友趣學中文2), a mobile application that aims to facilitate effective learning so that students' Chinese proficiency can be enhanced. The application is created and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, with the effort from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In order to access our services, you need to be a registered user. This privacy policy is deemed to be accepted by you upon your registration as user or start using our services. For registered user, it includes the Project's key service targets including student and the family members and teaching professional. Personal data will be collected for user identification and specific service purposes which can range from information download, computer games, training to counselling and etc. Users who are under the age of 18 must obtain permission from their parents or legal guardians before providing any personal data to the Project.

Use of any personal data is governed by our relevant Personal Information Collection Statements (PICS). Should there be any need of update to the PICS from time to time, we will inform user the change by posting the latest version of PICS on the Application. Please read them to understand our current privacy policy and practices.

As a user, by using our services, you also agree to the followings:

(a) provide accurate, up-to-date and complete information as required.

(b) upon any change of personal data or status, inform the Project Team via the communication channel provided in the PICS.

(c) keep all passwords and other login information related to your account or other registration (e.g. QR code for attendance taking) strictly confidential and be responsible for their security. You agree to inform us immediately if such password or information has been used or accessed without your authorization. We reserve the right to take all actions in securing the safety and integrity of our services as we deem appropriate, including without limitation monitoring, recording internet activities, internet protocol addresses, verifying user information, tracing and tracking information flow.

(d) our using cookies, beacons and/or other available unique application settings and usage tools to identify your device setting and browsing activities for operating, managing and improving the software behind our services. In order for our software to work properly, it is not possible to disable these tools. If you do not agree to our use of these tools, you should not use our software.

(e) the Application and our other services may contain third party materials and/or third party links/platforms which are not developed and maintained by the Project, and we would not be responsible for their services. Please refer to those third parties' privacy policies to protect your own privacy.

(f) respect all the intellectual property rights of the Project Team and Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) in the Portal, mobile app, games, publications, download content and etc. embedded in the Project and comply with all relevant intellectual property and copyright laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (the "HKSAR").

(g) while the Project Team would strive our best to maintain the quality of the mobile Application, the Project Team, HKJC and their service partners/agents will not assume responsibility for any mistakes or omission, and shall not be held liable for loss and damage in this regard.

(h) agree that if you decide to browse the Application, you do it entirely at your own risk. The Project Team, HKJC and their service partners/agents will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with or otherwise associated with using the Application of the Project.

(i) the Project Team reserves the right to amend the Terms of Services and post them on the Mobile Application without prior notice.

(j) the Terms of Services are governed and construed by the laws of HKSAR.

(k) if there is any inconsistency between the English version and the Chinese version of the Terms of Services, the English version shall prevail.

If a user is found breaching the Terms of Services, we may without liability or recourse to the user, with or without notice terminate the relevant registration or account of the user and may consider taking appropriate legal actions.
